George Orwell Square
The Plaça George Orwell is located at the end of the Escudellers street, in the middle of the neighbourhood of La Mercè.
For quite some time now, the entire Old City of Barcelona has been going through a lot of changes and improvements, with the result that this area is now a popular place for young people who come to hang out at the many cafés and restaurants found both here and on the Escudellers street.
In the center of the square, there is a sculpture by the surrealist artist Leandre Cristòfol.
